☑ Blood Transfusion to Cure Vamparism

My family (well at least my mother) and I remember seeing a movie many years ago that we swear was called Lost Boys. It was a vampire movie but not the one with Keifer Sutherland, another vampire movie called Lost Boys—what are the odds of that. Anyway, what we remember is that in this movie, there was a young guy who somehow became a vampire and caught up with a group of trouble making vampire punks. We remember that at the end of the movie, his father and him were holed up in a barn while the other vampires were outside banging on the door to get at them (I suppose to kill them or something). His father gave him a blood transfusion with his own blood to cure his son.

Does anyone know what movie I am thinking of. I have a strong suspicion that it is in fact Near Dark.

  1. I’m 99% sure it was indeed Near Dark (1987) after all. None of the rest of the movie was familiar, but it did indeed have the scene with the father giving his son a blood transfusion in the barn. I just could have sworn his little sister was in the barn with them and the vampires were banging on the door at the time. 🤔

Now I need to make a new post because several years ago, I saw a bit of a movie about a group of vampires that went to a small town and hassled a guy at a fair/carnival, which I thought was the movie I was looking for, but that scene wasn’t in Near Dark, so it’s a different movie. 😕

  2. It turns out it was indeed Near Dark (1987). I watched it in 2020 and confirmed it. The scene didn’t look the same as I remember, I remember a different camera-angle, darker colors, and the scene taking place in more of a small, wooden barn, but it was definitely the one.

Now, I need to find out which vampire movie had a group of young vampires hassling someone at a carnival. 🤔
