1. I was watching Immaculate (2024) and this just poured out of me (aptly enough, considering the movie). I’d be afraid of spending eternity being tortured just for making a funny… if it were real. Instead, we can all have a laugh, well, the rational ones of us.

2. In case you don’t get all the references, this is a mashup of the Lord’s Prayer and the Hail Mary, and various memes and other cultural bric-à-brac:

   Our Father, which art in heaven,
   Hallowed be thy Name;
   Thy kingdom come;
   Thy will be done
   in earth, as it is in heaven:
   Give us this day our daily bread;
   And forgive us our trespasses,
   as we forgive those that trespass against us;
   And lead us not into temptation,
   But deliver us from evil;

   Hail Mary:

   • Corrupt cops love to arrest people for “trespassing”, even if they aren’t legally allowed to since they don’t know the law of how trespassing works
   • In 1993, Ace of Base released the album and song The Sign with the memorable hook, “I saw the sign”
   • “Be a mensch” is a Yiddish phrase to be nice and do someone a favor (Jesus Mary and Joseph were Jewish )
   • Most porn sites are free, so temptation is very prevalent and hard to resist
   • YouTubers try to evade YouTube’s harsh (and inconsistent, arbitrary, and capricious) censorship by using “1337speak” and other bowdlerizations and euphemisms, such as “corn” for “porn”
   • There have been many cases of people winning lottery jackpots, then losing it all or their lives being ruined – be careful what you wish for, the monkey-paw is cruel
   • The Peter Cetera song “Glory of Love” has the line “I’ll be the man who’ll fight for your honor”
   • “To infinity and beyond” is Buzz Lightyear’s catchphrase in the Toy Story franchise
   • Infinity is synonymous-ish with forever (technically, forever is a subset of infinity)
   • Christian prayers usually end with Amen, meaning indeed, forsooth, etc. or as the kids would text,
   • The Jordan “CaptainSparklez” Maron song “Revenge” that parodies Usher’s song “DJ Got Us Falling In Love” begins with the spoken-word line “Creeper, aw man”
   • “Dieu” is French for “God”
   • “Sit, Ubu, Sit; Good dog” is a line by producer Gary David Goldberg used in the production-card shown at the end of shows he produced, featuring his dog Ubu, which in turn was named after the 1896 play by Alfred Jarry, Ubu Roi, or King Ubu
   • The last part was also a reference to the second-season episode of Family Guy, “Running Mates” episode in which Peter runs against Lois for school-board president and does a mashup of the theme songs to Diff’rent Strokes and The Facts of Life before ending with “Sit Ubu, sit; good dog”, which of course, was a reference to Ubu Productions

3. To my credit, I resisted the urge to use the obvious line “Our father, who farts in heaven”. I expect divine credit and entry into heaven for that.
