If Wrigley is smart, they will create plush dolls of their donut, coffee, garlic, and onion characters from their line of commercials for their Excel Gum campaign . The little characters are cute and people have become fond of them. Making dolls would be a great merchandising move on their part. In fact, it it seems that some people have already made their own plush dolls and plastic figurines, though professionally made ones would look better.
It seems that Wrigley decided to go in the opposite direction. Instead of making cute plush dolls for sale, they made a new set of shorts, each featuring one of the characters in close-up, looking really creepy and ugly.
A few months ago, Rovio started selling some Angry Birds plush dolls. At least they get it.
Another person has made some plush dolls of the Excel characters and is selling them.
PopCap has made the obvious move of selling plush dolls and plastic figurines of some of their Plants vs. Zombies characters.
